World Health Day is the annual flagship event of World Health organization. Health is the buzzword of modern era. India’s one third of the population is of youth, and they are wealth of the Country. So much so, we desire to create an apt vent in youth to build a healthy & vibrant generation.
Our over all goal is to promote health through physical activity.
Schools are an efficient vehicle for encouraging physical activity & fitness training in leisure time as a part of a daily routine. Children spend most of the time in schools and due to hectic schedules, the quality and quantity of physical activity have slipped.
Many children are less physically active than recommended. The present generation children engage more time in sedentary activities like watching television, playing video games, glued to computers. Due to this ailments like obesity, type -2 diabetes, blood pressure are rising in alarming rates in children community and medical expenses spiraling further.
The need of the hour is health enhancing physical activity. Physical activity is an adjunct to healthy diet. The regular moderate physical activity for at least 30 minutes will ward off minor ailments and protects disability, enhance functional independence, change behavior, and quality of life.

active canvas is hosting a summer arts carnival for children on saturday, april 5th, 2008 between 10 am and 5 pm. Children get to play with clay on a potter’s wheel, splash colors on a canvas, make funny hand puppets, enjoy theatre games & explore sculpture art. They can win exciting prizes by participating in on-the-spot painting and dance competitions. The carnival will also include fun activities such as face painting, hair-braiding, mime & acrobat shows, street magic and lots of exciting game stalls & food stalls. Adults must accompany the children and they are welcome to join in the activities.
The main objective of the carnival is to promote the arts and encourage children to engage with it on a regular basis. Activities of the carnival are designed for children between the ages of 3 and 14 and adults who are young at heart.
