The buffet is Rs.175 on saturday ( dont know about other days). The menu contains the regular south indian stuff like lemon rice, puliyogare, dose etc.

    South Indies numbers are 4163 6361 or 4163 6363

    Bangalore are you hungry?

Resturants and eat outs has been a major attraction for me on weekends. One of my dinner/lunch during the weekend is outside even though I stay with my parents. So every week I look out for a new resturant to try. And this starts with asking the friends or searching on google for the numbers. Last few times I got the details from a website called HungryBangalore. I must say I was impressed even though I have not completely used their system.

hbad1.gifYesterday I spoke to the guys behind the website hungrybangalore.com. Me and R had a nice conversation about their child hungrybagalore.com. I am a major foodie and web enthu ( I dont eat more. But I want to eat every where) so obviously it was an interesting subject for me to talk about it. I spoke to R ( he was shy to give out the name on web. He is one of the co-founder). Here is a part conversation

How did you come up with this idea?

We are couple of batchmates from IITK working for a software company. We used work for saturday and sunday; it used to be difficult to arrange the launch because the canteen used to be closed. And this idea stuck us.

    Is it your 40hrs job?
Not yet. Its not yet scaled up to that level. But it is not my parttime. We have been putting lot more effort to call it partime.

how are the user comments, feedback?
The user comments has been very good. It was slow to pickup. We launched 24 july this year, its been 5 months and I should say the number of orders are less.People have been responding positively and ist been encouraging. The regular people are from software industry. The orders on Weekdays are less in number. And numbers are high on weekend. Its usually starts with veryless orders on monday and picks up as the week moves.

How was the response from resturants when you approached them?
We can divide resturants into two catrgories. those who know the internet and those who dont know.It was easy to convince the people who knew internet. They where open.It was difficult to approach those who didnt know about internet.Because they couldnt relate to this. There are some old resturant and some resturant chains like Nandini convicing them was difficult.

How many of you? small team there?
We are two co-founders here. Me and P.There are few friends of mine from IITK who are helping us.

    Future plans?
We are trying to Approach VCs.And also looking to expand to other cities cities like H’bad, Mumbai etc.At Mumbai we are close to starting. Friend of mine helping there with arrangements.

There are few satiesfied users who have blogged about hungry bangalore. Go ahead book your table.

Note: If you have a business establishment, website, resturant, pub of your own kind and if you are serving Bangalore. Let me know. I would be glad to talk to you.
