    India For Tibet

A group of us have organized a protest in Bangalore called INDIA FOR TIBET on the 26th of April 2008. The Human Rights violations in Tibet is a very serious issue as you may all know and needs as much attention as possible. Therefore we have organized a complete Indian youth initiative to show our support for the Tibetan people.

So far in Bangalore the protest has been only Tibetan. What we fail to realise is that this is a Human Rights crises close to home and concerns us all. I urge you to join us on the 26th, we need all your support.

Please send this email to as many people in Bangalore as possible. Below are the details of the details of the protest.

    Every Hand Counts!!!

Take a stand and voice your opinions.

Join us at the protest to spread awareness about the horrific Human Rights violation in Tibet where thousands of Tibetans are being detained and tortured.

We believe that it is vital that an objective international body investigates the situation and medical supplies and other necessities are dispatched to those in need.

    Metamorphosis 2008: Montessori Event

The Indian Montessori Association, in association with Indian Institute for Montessori Studies has been conducting the ‘Montessori Mela’ during the month of February every year, under the name ‘Metamorphosis’. Over the years this event has generated a lot of response from Montessorians and public alike. As per the request of public, we have decided to dedicate Metamorphosis 2008 to bring the program for primary age group to public notice.

The Association is setting up a working primary class room to bring clarity to the idea of Montessori and to give those interested a glimpse into the way the program works. Children from various schools will take turns to work there. There will also an exhibition of a preprimary class, with trained teachers to explain the usage of materials. Events will be staged from time to time by children of different schools throughout the day.

At the exhibition, the changes in the child at each stage of development, his needs, his tasks and the approach to educate him will be portrayed in the stall of Indian Institute of Montessori Studies. The trainee teachers of the Institute will explain activities of the children to the visitors. There will also be a panel of experienced Montessorians from both preprimary and primary to answer questions of the public. Stalls of manufacturers of materials, publishers of books and information regarding schools will also be available.
