    Music Fests in November 2007

    Nadasurabhi Cultural Association, Koramangala, Bangalore, as part of its 14th annual music festival, is organizing a week long cultural festival between 13th and 19th November, 07.
    Artistes include :
    13th Nov, 07 Prof. T.N. Krishnan’s violin solo,
    14th Nov, 07 Vijay Siva,
    15th Nov, 07 S. Sowmya,
    16th Nov, 07Sanjay Subrahmanyan,
    17th Nov, 07T.M. Krishna,
    18th Nov, 07 Maharajapuram Ramachandran and a dance solo by Manasi Prasad followed by ‘aaraar Aasaipadaar’, a documentary on Carnatic music featuring Sanjay Subrahmanyan on the final day.

    The concerts are free for all music lovers.

    Ancillary Programs at RS Fest ‘07

    While the best of the country’s theatre troupes continue to stage top-of-the-line plays on the main stage at the Ranga Shankara Theatre Festival, the Ancillary programs are entertaining the audiences in their own way.

    Three exclusive Ancillary programs are planned for Friday (26th) and Saturday (27th).

    Other Voices – Revathi Menon comes back with her “Other Voices” piece, No. 1 Madhav Baug. Directed by Mariam Jetpurwala, this 30 minute piece is performed to an audience of 25 people, in an intimate space at Ranga Shankara. Two shows are scheduled for Friday, for 9:15 PM and 10:15 PM. Tickets priced at Rs. 100 will be sold at the counter from 8:45 PM on Friday.

    To recall, on Monday, Oct 22nd, Revathi performed this piece to an appreciative audience.

    Two music concerts are scheduled as follows:
    Friday, 26th, 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM – A unique Accordion performance by the group Tremelos.
    Saturday, 27th, 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM – String Quartet by Bangalore School of Music.

    A musical night “LAYA” by Dr.Chandrakanth Sardeshmukh

    I am posting on behalf of Yuva Foundations (www.yuvafoundations.org), an NGO started by a group of young professionals, passionate about one single goal - Celebrating Education. Pursuing our vision of community development through education,YUVA introduced Place-Based Education (PBE) and Introduction to Basic Technology (IBT) programs at Dombaranahally, a role model village adopted by YUVA for this cause.
    IBT, a vocational training model equipping young girls and boys from rural India with job and life skills, pioneered by Vigyan Ashram (www.vigyanashram.com ) and recognized by Education Board of Government of Maharashtra, India, is a successful model creating as many as 800 entrepreneurs from 350 schools in rural Maharashtra.
    Yuva in association with Vigyan Ashram, has started this program for the first time in the state of Karnataka, in a government school, at Dombaranahally in Tumkur Dist.
    We are organizing a musical night “LAYA” by Dr.Chandrakanth Sardeshmukh, a renowned Sitar Player and a senior disciple of Pt. Ravishankar and Mrs. Annapurnadevi (www.darshanam.com), as a fund raiser for this noble cause.

    I request you all to come and be a part of this noble venture, in making this society a better place through education at the grass root level.

    Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali Concert on Sunday, 5th. August 2007

    Maam Entertainment has great news for you all. We have been able to convince 2 great ghazal maestros Padmabhushan Jagjit Singh & Ustad Ghulam to perform once again on the same stage just because you wanted them together.

    The ‘Beyond Boundaries’ Ultimate Ghazal Concert concert will start at 6pm on Sunday, 5th. August 2007.It will be staged in Gayathri Vihar Hall on Palace Grounds, Bangalore. Gayathri Vihar Hall is completely covered, fully carpeted, has excellent sound system & all seats are numbered. (Photo of venue attached).
    Admission Rates are Rs. 2500/- ( First 2 Rows - only 30 numbers available for sale) ; 1650/-, 1100/-; 550 & 300/- (all denominations are inclusive of Entertainment Tax).
