Muziboo.com presents a musical evening on the Valentines day, with
performances from the bands ‘Grubby Halo’ and ‘Unknown River’ at Brew
Haha Cafe, Koramangala
‘Grubby Halo’ will blow hot and cold and lukewarm with their originals
and some classic covers like ‘I Cant Help Falling in Love With You’,
‘Hit the Road Jack’ and ‘Hey Jude’. Their originals like “Love
Remains”, ‘New Man By Your Side’, ‘Top Brass Caviar’and ‘Moody
Drunkard Blues’ would go a long way in wooing and melting hearts.
‘Unknown River’ with its bluesy instrumental performance should add
more colour and class to the pink shaded evening.

Music, music and more music! Kodaikanal International School, recognized for their 60 piece orchestra ensemble and band, is having its Annual Music Concert on February 14 2008 at
Christ College Auditorium - 14-Feb-2008 at 7:00 pm

The evening will see musical performances by students playing melodies from artists like John Kinyon, Steve Hodges to George Michael and western classical music like Mozart. Vivaldi on Xylophone, performed by Aditya Sagar, Toccata by Poulenc performed by Hye Jin Kim on the piano and Suite Antique by John Rutter performed by Da Yang Jeong on the flute are some of the solo performances. Vocals by Rushad Mistry, Ga AeLim, Da Yang Jeong and Jee Yoon Kim and many more.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pratap Chettri, Head of Department, Music, Kodaikanal International School, said “We take music very seriously at Kodaikanal International School. As part of the curriculum, music is offered as a complete course and many students come forward to learn music as early from Grade 4. Their talent is nurtured by teachers who are professionals and play music from the soul. This concert is a platform for students to showcase their talent and also boost their confidence to play on-stage in front of a live audience.”
The Advanced Band with music conductor, David Perkins played tunes from George Michael to Richard Strauss, while the Sting Orchestra under the direction of Christopher Ostrander performed music from Cladwell and Ivory to Passerau.

Catherine Potter is carving out a niche in the World of Music with her Indian European Tour
Canada’s master bansuri flautist - Catherine Potter, who is a long-time adherent of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, will be performing in Bangalore on 9th February, 2008 at East – West Encounter, Alliance Française. Her concert, known as ‘Duniya Project’, had a breakthrough success in Delhi. Her tour then moved on to Kolkata, and is currently all set to create rhythms in Bangalore. Her Indian tour completes with Mumbai.
The concert brings together international flavor of the music and to the assorted backgrounds of the stupendous musicians who make up DUNIYA PROJECT’s exceptional global sound: Bansuri, leader – Catherine Potter, Tabla-player Ravi Naimpally , Guitarist Bill Parsons, Double-bassist Nicolas Caloia, and Drummer Thom Gossage. This Project is a long musical journey between Montreal and Mumbai and has been played at Canadian stages often with distinguished guest such as Simon Shaheen and Shubhankar Banerjee. With a strong reputation as a stimulated performer of North Indian classical music, the five musicians are set to tour India with their sophisticated cross-cultural approach.

a home for terminally ill cancer patients in Bangalore. I have been
there several times myself and have not felt anything less than a
profound sense of respect for the enormous work being done there,
without any fuss or pomp, for the neediest.
They have organized a fundraiser and I attach the details of the same below. Please do help them in their endeavor and also pass it on to anyone, you think might also be able to help

Violin
Was born on 23 May 1984 in Limbricht (The Netherlands), began to play the violin at the age of 5with the famous Dutch teacher Coosje Wijzenbeek. Nowadays she is studying with Vera Beths at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
tephanie Steiner,
Viola
born in Amsterdam started playing the violin at the age of 4. Two years later she took lessons with the famous pedagogue Coosje Wijzenbeek. Later she studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague where she was a pupil at the Young Talent Department for very gifted young musicians
