Good news for Bangaloreans — the national Right to Information helpline — (080)
666-00-999 is now in the city.
Launched by Parivartan and The Manjunath Shanmugam Trust, it has migrated from Delhi to Bangalore with BPO firm MphasiS offering to run it for a subsidised cost.
Queries on pension applications, ration card, tax refunds, police investigations and broader issues such as the poor state of roads will be answered.
The helpline will be active from May 1 and will offerinformation in English, Hindi and Tamil. It will be
open 7 days a week, from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
Agents are trained to provide information about theRTI Act; guide as to how the Act can help resolve
specific issues; guide the caller through theapplication, first and second appeal process; provide
list of Public Information Officers and APIOs; as also provide contacts of RTI Activists across the country.
The helpline, according to the release issued onMonday, has received over 7,500 calls to date from
across the country

For Firefox Advt:
I got an idea for the Firefox advertisement few days back. The script for this is online here. Please read it. We need an actor and actress to act in this 20 second advertisement. As such we don’t need any professionals because we ourselves are not professionals. I am going to shoot this ad using a camcoder or something similar. And I have a friend who has done a film course who can help us in editing and directing the this. Let me know if you are interested in this. Please leave a message here. We need a days commitment.

I have been thinking about the EventsBangalore Video blog for sometime now. This is a bi-weekly vlog about Bangalore and things happenings around. Will be shooted using a camcoder.
