We will host three quizzing events on Sunday, 23 December 2007 at the Daly Memorial Hall, Mythic Society, Nrupatunga Road (Opp. RBI).

EVENT I
Ranking Intercollegiate Quiz
Hosted by Mihir Jayaraman
Rules
Open to teams of three members from the same college.
Students of PUC/XI & XII, UG and PG institutions may participate.
Unlimited entries per college (Cap of two teams in the finals)
Entry Fee: Rs. 50/- per team
Schedule
Prelims: 1030hrs
Finals: 1115hrs
Prizes
I: Rs. 2250/-
II: Rs. 1500/-
III: Rs. 900/-
plus consolation prizes for all other finalists
EVENT II
Solus Rex Finals
Hosted by Arul Mani
1300hrs-1500hrs
Anustup Datta, Arun Hiregange, Satyajit R. and Thejaswi Udupa will
contest the finals.
Round I: Film Scores
Round II: Nobel Prize Winners in Literature
You are invited to send in questions for the Challenge Round, based on
either of the topics. The last date for sending in your questions is
Friday 21 December 2007. A jury will pick the three best questions
sent in–prizes of Rs. 500/- each will be awarded to the people who
sent in these questions.

The third edition of our annual online quiz Go Ogle will be held on 1
January 2008 at the KQA quiz blog. A separate announcement will be
made about the event by the end of the week.

KQA’s President, Ochintya Sharma, will conduct the Bangalore round of the Texas Instruments Jack Kilby Science and Technology Quiz for high schools on Sunday 11 November at St. John’s Auditorium,opposite BDA Complex, Koramangala.
The winners from Chennai (Vidyaniketan) and New Delhi (Bluebells) will take on the Bangalore winners in the National Finals which is to be held immediately after the Bangalore Finals.
Over the last five years, Ochintya has perfected a form of science quizzing that is accessible and challenging for school participants and adult audiences. You are invited to witness the National Finals of this unique event.

The finals will conclude by 1600hrs to allow interested teams to make it to the IIM-B Vista Quiz, scheduled to begin by 1700hrs.
The next set of KQA events will be held on Sunday, 28 October 2007. The events scheduled include the Vidyasagar Memorial Quiz, Solus Rex
Semifinal III and an Open Quiz on the Visual Arts.
The dates for KQA events next month have been fixed: Sunday 18 and 25 November. The events planned include an Open Quiz by Kiran Vijayakumar, The annual Movie Quiz by Madhav Nair and a
History/Geography Quiz hosted by Aadisht Khanna.

KQA Solus Rex Prelims
Rules
Open to all
Entry Fee: Rs. 50/-
Free entry for school students
50 questions to answer in 30 minutes.
The prelims will begin at 1430hrs and end at 1500hrs.
Crossovers
A quiz in the History of Ideas. Questions drawn from the journeys made
by ideas across the sciences, history, philosophy, popular culture and
the arts.
Prelims: 1500hrs
Finals: 1600hrs
5 Phases, 60 questions.

Open to teams of two members
QMs: Cheriyan Alexander & Arul Mani
Gautam Shenoy will conduct the Open Quiz scheduled for Saturday 22 September 2007 at Daly Memorial Hall. The teams placing 1-2-3 at Gautam’s quiz will conduct Finals-Semis-Prelims respectively at the Unseeded Open Quiz scheduled for Sunday, 14 October 2007.
In other news, Satyajit Chetri will come down to conduct Graphick Rampage–the long awaited quiz on comics and allied graphic arts on 14 October.
We will hold another series of quizzes on Sunday, 28 October 2007. Both dates in October refer to Daly Hall.
